Which foods do we want to prepare? Which activities do we want to add to the calendar? What gifts will we buy for our loved ones? In my family, Black Friday shopping is a family bonding experience. The children stay at home with Grandpa, and all the adults (siblings and spouses and Grandma) hit the stores. Black Friday used to involve trying to stay warm outside a Best Buy at 3 am, but as the early morning opening hours of previous years slowly moved into the evening hours and then the late afternoon hours of Thanksgiving Day, we’ve had to amend our tactics. But the overall plan remains the same– safely and successfully cross off as many items on our shopping list in one night!

It's safe to say almost everyone is a heavy smartphone user these days. We stream music, read the news, check social media, communicate with our friends and family and use our phones for tons of other daily tasks. And sometimes your phone's battery just can't make it all the way through the day. That doesn't mean you have to glue yourself to the wall while you recharge. You no longer have to be that person sitting on the floor at the airport, leaving your phone plugged in across the room or twisting yourself into a pretzel to use your phone while it's charging by your bed.
The best solution is to simply upgrade your short USB charging cable to a longer, faster more durable charging cable. It’s a small and easy thing to do that can make a big impact on your daily life. It solves tricky plug placements in airports, coffee shops and even your own home.

USB-powered devices go with us everywhere and it's important to stay connected. However, not all chargers or cables are created equal. What should you consider when choosing the best USB charging solutions? What's all this talk about amps, volts and rapid charging? Keep reading, and let us help you make sense of it all.
Charging rateFor starters, not all electronic devices can be charged at the same rate. Different wall chargers have different output rates, measured in amps. Chargers with higher charging rates will power your device up quicker. For example, we recommend at least a 1 amp charger for an iPhone, 1.6 amps for Android and 2.4 amps for an iPad. When choosing a mutli-port charger for multiple devices, the total output must match or be higher than what each device requires to charge at the fullest rate. To find this out, add up the required amps for all the devices you'll be charging.
For example: Android + iPad = 3+ amp charger.
